Executive wants Mejinschi to be ambassador to Poland

The Government proposed a draft decree whereby Valentin Mejinschi, the former director of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, former minister of the interior and former deputy prime minister is named as Moldova’s Ambassador to Poland. Mejinschi is not a diplomat. He told yet the reporters that his previous jobs required much diplomacy and that he hopes he will do it well. At its Wednesday’s meeting, the executive dismissed Boris Golovin from the post of Deputy Minister of Health and named him director general of the Agency of Medicine. The post fell vacant after the former director Lupu was discharged. In a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, President Vladimir Voronin expressed his dissatisfaction with Lupu’s activity and with the way in which the prices of drugs are fixed. Also today, the Deputy Minister of Health Mircea Buga was dismissed and appointed as director general of the National Health Insurance Company. The former director Gheorghe Rusu was discharged on the basis of his resignation.
