Sergiu Sîrbu, Anatolie Zagorodnyi and Vladimir Vitiuc were placed under house arrest based on a decision taken by the Ciocana Court, IPN reports.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said the court on March 31 examined the requests to extend the remand detention for 30 days for the three former MPs who are investigated for unjust enrichment. The judge of inquiry ordered to place the three under house arrest for a 30-day period. The anticorruption prosecutors intend to challenge the decision in the Chisinau Appeals Court.
The Ciocana Court on Friday will take a decision about ex-MP Artur Reshetnikov, who remains in custody.
Five former MPs, among who is Violeta Ivanov who is under house arrest, were arrested on February 2. They were all charged with unjust enrichment. The cases are investigated in connection with the inquiries into the corruption of MPs for defecting from their parliamentary groups.
