Ex-defense ministers Șalaru and Marinuța accuse incumbent of lying

The minister of defense demonstrates incompetence and makes accusations based on lies. The statement belongs to the former head of defense Anatol Șalaru, who told IPN that through Minister Pavel Voicu, President Igor Dodon, a Russia supporter, is retaliating because the missile system sold by Moldova ended up in Ukraine.

"The opening bids for rocket complexes were set by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which were sold at auction", said Anatol Șalaru. The former minister of defense said that the missile complex was manufactured in 1974 and was outdated and that its maintenance alone annually cost the budget about one million lei. "The missile system was out of use for 20 years and was sold at a higher price than the opening bid established by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry", Anatol Șalaru said.

Another former defense minister who was accused by Pavel Voicu of illegalities is Vitalie Marinuța. He said that Pavel Voicu is lying. "Pavel Voicu's statements were influenced by the hatred general Gorgan has towards me and towards other competent people in the army", said Vitalie Marinuța. The former minister added that Pavel Voicu's statements are an admission that he does not know the national Army's past or current situation.

Pavel Voicu declared on Thursday that a missile complex was illegally sold while Anatol Șalaru was defense minister and that over 40 tons of ammunition were illegally sold under minister Vitalie Marinuța.
