The European Parliament’s report that urges to extend cooperation and find new methods of supporting the countries situated at the eastern borders of the EU is a very important signal and suggests objectives that would improve the life of Moldovans, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Iurie Leanca stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Iurie Leanca, the report that refers to the development of cooperation with Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine contains a series of proposals, such as joining of the European Union in a particular perspective, which is a qualitatively new pace, joining of the Schengen arrangements about which they didn’t speak so far, annulment of the roaming charges, joining of a common Europeans energy area, creation of infrastructure corridors to much better connect Moldova to the European infrastructure. “I’m convinced that these proposals, when we will assimilate them as a county and they are assimilated by the Europeans Union, will mean a new landmark, a new very important page in our relationship with the EU. It is very important to have objectives,” stated the Deputy Speaker.
According to him, these objectives are very important and will change the realities in Moldova and will improve the life of citizens because new opportunities are opened up for the economy, for entrepreneurs.
Analyst Anatol Taranu said the proposals formulated by the MEPs will not be fully felt in the daily life of the Moldovans soon. A particular period of time is needed for this program to be implemented and to start to produce results. “From the angle of propagation of the European values, this event has great importance,” he stated.
A new report by the European Parliament requests to develop cooperation with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova and to identify new methods of supporting the EU’s eastern neighbors. The report was approved by the Committee on Foreign Affairs and is to be adopted by the European Parliament in the plenary session this month.
