European Commission experts appreciate Moldova's progress in IT services
Experts from the European Commission appreciate Moldova's progress in IT services. The achievements were discussed on the first day of the 6th reunion of the Moldova – EU cooperation sub-committee “Energy, environment, transport, telecommunications, science, technology, culture and education,” taking place in Brussels, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Foreign Ministry.
Speaking about the so-called “info-society”, the European partners especially pointed out the importance of the new law on e-communications entering force in accordance with the EU acquis. The success in the area of electronic services was highly appreciated by some EU member states. Moldova asked for the EC's support to implement IT in culture and economy.
The Moldovan side presented the latest developments in terms of national legislation concerning broadcasting and the latest efforts to adjust the normative frame to European requirements and standards. The EC experts paid special attention to the implementation of the rules protecting minors in case of programs displaying violence, antisocial or amoral behavior.
As for environment, the EU experts welcomed Moldova's efforts to adjust its laws to the EU's requirements and the progress made, mentioning the EC's availability to provide support in terms of endorsing the new acts developed by Moldova.
At the same time, the European side announced the launch of a new program called “Media Mundus”, conceived to develop the cinema sector and invited Moldova to join it.
The reunion of the Moldova-EU cooperation sub-committee “Energy, environment, transport, telecommunications, science, technology, culture and education” takes place from June 25 through 27.
