For composer Eugen Doga, August 27 is not a holiday. The master has told IPN that after 23 years, Moldova is not yet impendent because it hasn’t changed its Constitution so that it provides that Romanian is the official language.

“We haven’t yet decided what language we speak – Romanian or Moldovan. All kinds of laws have been adopted during 23 years, but the fundamental law hasn’t been yet amended,” stated Eugen Doga.

He also referred to the unsolved Transnistrian conflict. “A state cannot call itself independent when it has a foreign army on its territory,” said the master.

Eugen Doga criticized the authorities for allowing particular parties to manipulate and mislead society. Moldova cannot be independent at a time when it allows dividing society by different anti-national programs.

The composer is also dissatisfied with the excessive bureaucracy owing to which books from Romania and equipment for the Moldovan schools cannot reach our country.

“It’s not normal. We will never enter the EU if we do not throw away the used skin. I want to sing the beauty and want harmony to exist between music and life. I write about happiness, but see misery,” said Eugen Doga.

On August 27, it is 23 years of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Moldova.
