EU experts to offer support to Parliament in Chisinau within two-year project

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will benefit from assistance from the European Union over the next two years in order to strengthen its legislative and parliamentary control capacities. The EU-funded Twinning project will help the legislative body in Chisinau to streamline its work and prepare Moldovan legislation for being adapted to European standards.

Seminars, workshops, internships and fact-finding visits will be organized within the project. European experts will provide advice in drafting laws and implementation strategies.

On Tuesday, 3 February, Miltiadis Makrygiannis, permanent coordinator of the Twinning project, started his work at the Parliament.

During February 17 and 21, a team of experts will be in Chisinau to agree the action plan for the next half year.

The Twinning project will be implemented from February 2025 until February 2027. The aim is to harmonize Moldova's legislation with EU norms and to strengthen the mechanisms for supervising the government's activity, modernizing the internal processes of the Parliament for efficient and transparent activity, IPN reports.
