Employees of the National Investigations Inspectorate detained the two prisoners who escaped from the Soroca-based Penitentiary No. 6 on November 10. These were traced in the orchard of Nicoreni village of Drochia district, IPN reports.

When they were found, the detainees were escorted to the Drochia Police Inspectorate. If their guilt is proven, they will serve up to six years more for escape, based on Article 317 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Moldova.

The men, aged 23 and 32, were serving two years and eight months and, respectively, five years. They escaped from the open sector of the prison, where persons convicted of offenses committed out of imprudence are held.
