Energocom reserves for first time energy quotas to be purchased from Nuclearelectrica

For the first time for the interconnection of the electricity systems of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Energocom has reserved part of the monthly capacity for October in order to purchase electricity from Romania’s Nuclearelectrica, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Energy said that this procedure involved the provision of a bank guarantee and participation in a tender contest staged by the electricity transmission system operator of Romania Transelectrica.

“By tendering capacities, the goal is to obtain transparent and non-discriminatory conditions for all market participants,” noted the Ministry of Energy.

Starting with October, Energocom will buy 10 MW bandwidth (24/24 hour interval) and in the coming months this amount could increase, depending on internal needs. The price of energy from Nuclearelectrica was capped at 400 RON by an emergency ordinance.
