The average monthly wage of a worker in the economy of the Chisinau municipality constituted, in 11 months of last year, 2159.6 lei and is 31% greater that the average monthly wage in the national economy. According to data of the economy, reforms and patrimonial relations general department, the mean wage in the municipality increased, in the aforementioned period, by 24.8% in relation to the same period of 2005. In the budgetary sphere of the municipality, the average monthly wage constituted 1878.7 lei, a 41.9% increase compared to the first 11 months of the previous year. Approximately 350 thousand people are engaged in the economy of the Chisinau municipality, representing a 7 thousand people increase compared to the previous year. In the referenced period, 6400 thousand new work places were created in the municipality. In January-November 2006, the average monthly wage of a worker in the economy of the R. Moldova (enterprises with 20 or more employees) constituted 1657.6 lei and increased compared to the same period of 2005 by 29% (the real wage – by 15%) In the budgetary sector, the average wage constituted 1432.8 lei, in the real sector of the economy – 1778.5 lei. The average remuneration of an employee in November 2006 was 1875 lei, 27 per cent more than in November 2005. In the budgetary sector, the average wage constituted 1553 lei, in the real sector – 2048.9 lei.
