Businesses in the food sector and manufacturing industry will be able to apply for compensation starting January 27. The decision was approved by the members of the Commission for Exceptional Situations. The compensation will cover up to 50% of the increase in electricity tariffs and will be granted for a period of three months, IPN reports.
Eligible companies will be notified through the government portal MCabinet/EVO about the opportunity to benefit from compensation. Applications will also be submitted via a dedicated section on the government portal.
After reviewing the submitted applications and verifying the data provided by the companies, compensation will be transferred through the government's electronic payment service, MPay.
To cover the price difference for electricity supply during the January-March 2025 period, the Government's intervention fund will allocate 60 million lei.
