Electricity consumption needs for January 21 will be fully covered

On January 21, electricity consumption on the right bank of the Dniester is expected to be 3% higher than on the previous day. This will be covered in full, Energocom reports.

The company notes that as most of the electricity is imported, capacity has been reserved. The consumption needs will be covered through bilateral contracts and on the Romanian exchange, IPN reports.

In addition to imports, the electricity generated by the district heating plants in Chisinau and Balti, plus the energy produced by renewable energy plants, will be counted on.

Between January 1-20, Energocom purchased 280 thousand MWh, at the weighted average price of 126.75 euro/MWh. "About 30% of the electricity demand was produced by the urban district heating plants in Chisinau and Balti, while the share of imported energy is 60%. Wind and photovoltaic parks plus biogas plants generated just over 10%," a company press release said.
