Electoral officials to stamp 660,000 ballots following Valentin Krylov’s withdrawal
The withdrawal of the Party of Socialists’ candidate Valentin Krylov from the electoral race caused troubles to the electoral officials. They will have to apply the stamp “withdrawn” near his name on all the ballots, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the secretary of the Central Election Commission Andrei Volentir, 660,000 ballots designed for the municipality of Chisinau will have to be stamped in the morning of June 5. No amendments to the ballots can be made now as they started to be printed.
Andrei Volentir said that if Valentin Krylov had announced his withdrawal from the race before May 30, the ballots could have been modified before printing.
The local elections will take place on June 5.
