Electoral Commission adopts strategy on training electoral functionaries
The Moldovan Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will soon set up a Continuous Training Center and a Youth Counseling Council – the latter as an informal structure. The moves are part of the CEC's Strategy on training electoral functionaries in 2008-2013, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The document pursues to create a frame to train electoral judges to educate voters, reads a communique issued by the CEC.
The trainees are going to be the functionaries of the CEC's apparatus, local officials, functionaries hired in constituency councils, judges, operators of the state IT system “Alegeri” (Elections), journalists, observers, etc.
The Youth Counseling Council will work with voters, political parties, youth organizations, mass-media.
The regulations related to the work of the center and the council are to be later adopted by CEC. The means to make them work will be taken from the state budget and donors.
