Eight persons whose attic-like apartments on Independentei St in Chisinau were destroyed by fire on May 1 asked for accommodation at the boarding school located at 191 Grenoble St. The school’s vice director Angela Vladicescu has told IPN that three people were lodged yesterday evening, while another three came this morning. There are no children among them. The number may go up towards evening.
Angela Vladicescu also said that those who were accommodated at the boarding school can take breakfast, lunch and dinner there. There were prepared 36 sleeping places. The costs are now covered from the institution’s budget, but support will be asked from the authorities if the persons stay for a longer period at the school.
In the afternoon of May 1, an attic-like apartment storey with 28 apartments was fully destroyed by fire. Twelve apartments were inhabited. A short circuit is one of the versions of the cause of fire.
