Eight aspirants will fight for three seats of mayor in the local mayoral elections set for October 16. The eight candidates were designated by six political parties and five of these are men, IPN reports.
The district electoral councils of Sălcuța village in Căușeni district and of Braniște commune in Râșcani district registered by three candidates, while that of Ialpujeni village in Cimișlia district registered two applicants. In Braniște, an independent candidate submitted an application for being registered, but later returned the subscription lists and refused to run.
The Central Election Commission said that over 6,000 voters are expected to take part in the elections in the three villages on October 16.
