Eight cages for keeping stray dogs will be set up on Uzinelor St in Chisinau within a month. Their capacity will be of 350-450 frogs. Currently, the local authorities are considering the possibility of concluding partnerships for feeding the stray dogs with leftovers from Chisinau restaurants and cafes, IPN reports.
In the January 13 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, director of the cleanup company “Autosalubritate” Eugen Axentiev said the given area is situated on the territory of the necropolis, but no inhumation has been performed there yet. The embankment works started on December 16 and will be followed by cementing works and the installation of the wooden cages. Currently, over 400 dogs are kept at the sterilization center for a period.
Eugen Axentiev noted the number of complaints about stray dogs from people has increased. They are to intervene at about 60 addresses and catch the stray dogs there and sterilize them. When the cages are in place, they will start to improve the conditions for neutering animals without an owner. The process is set to end on June 1.
