Eduard Melnic appointed ambassador to Latvia

The Government appointed in its sitting on Wednesday, August 30, Eduard Melnic as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Latvia. Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev drew Melnic’s attention to Moldova’s special interests in this country, as well as in its vicinity. He requested an action plan and proposals to boost up relations with these countries. Till present Eduard Melnic held the office of prorector at the Public Administration Academy. The same sitting appointed Petru Plop as head of the Center for Fighting Trafficking in Humans, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Previously he was the head of the Criminal Police Dpt. On Wednesday, Professor Nicolae Cervencov was appointed rector of the Taraclia based State University.
