Economic Court of Appeals president resigns
The Supreme Council of Magistrates on April 3 accepted the resignation tendered by the president of the Economic Court of Appeals Aurel Kolenko, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Aurel Kolenko said he was very glad he leaves the legal system as a new stage starts in his life. He refused to tell the press why he decided to quit.
The Economic Court of Appeals is being liquidated within the justice sector reform. Last week, the Supreme Council of Magistrates transferred six of the nine judges of the Economic Court to the Chisinau Court of Appeals and refused to transfer the other three. Aurel Kolenko accepted to go to work at the Balti Court of Appeals, but changed his mind in a week.
Reforming the justice sector is a condition imposed by the European Union for liberalizing the visa regime.
