Eco-rural expedition in Orhei for young people
The Women’s Association for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development (AFPMDD) organize, on 10–23 August 2006, the touristic eco-rural expedition “Orhei for Tourists”. The action is organized in the framework of the UNDP-Moldova project “Sustainable Development for Tourism”.
The chairwoman of the Association Ioana Bobana announced that the expedition “Orhei for Tourists” will be held on the itinerary Tabara - Vatici - Curchi – Mana – Isacova – Furceni – Trebujeni villages. Thus, young people will have the opportunity to visit villages in order to collect legends, historical data, information about well-known native personalities, and asses the situation of natural and cultural-artistic monuments.
4 camp places will be set during the expedition - in Curchi, Isacova, Furceni and Trebujeni.
The participants in the expedition, young people aged 15-18, will be selected by contest, where the applicants will be requested knowledge and abilities in rural and ecologic tourism, as well as good physical condition. The deadline for submitting applications, at the headquarters of AFPMDD, is August 4.
At the end of the expedition the young persons will get a participation certificate and a trainer certificate in the field of rural and ecologic tourism. The participants will be able to present projects regarding rural tourism development in localities they come from.
According to Ioana Bobana, this expedition is a sequel of those 7 similar actions organized within the Ecologist Movement of Moldova. Two of them were organized on Prut River - from Criva to Pruteni, three expeditions on Nistru River - from Naslavcea to Soroca, from Soroca to Tipova, from Copanca to Planca.
