The school students go on vacation on April 30. The Easter vacation lasts for ten days, until May 10. Contacted by IPN, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that unlike the schools, the nurseries will not stop work.

According to the Division’s head, the children will not go to nursery schools on Easter Monday, May 2, and on Low Sunday, May 9. The previous years, the number of children who attended kindergartens in the period was by about 60% lower. The low attendance is due to the fact that the kindergarten children stay at home with the elder brothers and sisters during the Easter holidays.

Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that only the students will rest in the period, while the teachers will go to work.

Under the Education Code, the 2015-2016 school year is 33 weeks long in the case of primary education, 35 weeks long in the case of secondary education and 34 weeks long for the ninth and twelfth grades.
