More than 2.5 million calls were made to the 112 Service in 2020, down almost 20% on 2019. Each second call was a nonemergency one. Compared with 2019, the number of nonemergency calls declined by about 9%.
In a press release, the 112 Service says that most of the calls and requests were made between 5pm and 7pm. The older persons used the 112 Service more often. Approximately 40% of the total number of calls were made by persons older than 62.
Most often, the callers complained about respiratory disorders, arterial hypertension, abdominal pain and backache, weakness with unclear symptoms. The police dealt primarily with offenses against the life and health of the person – aggressive person, beaten or aggressed person - and road accidents.
Most of the calls informing about real emergencies were made from Chisinau, followed by Bălți, Orhei, Cahul, Ungheni, Fălești and Soroca.
