The owners of apartments in multi-story buildings will be able to install renewable energy parks for own consumptions, including at another address than the consumption place, but both of the addresses must be within the area of responsibility of the same supplier. This is stipulated in a bill that was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.
The authorities said there is great interest in photovoltaic installations as the investments in these are recouped faster, unlike other technologies. With the current prices, they are recovered twice faster than before the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine.
It was also ascertained that many consumers oversize the installed power and deprive other consumers of the possibility of producing green energy for own consumption. To make the current renewable energy system more balanced and orderly and nondiscriminatory, to which more citizens would have access, net billing will be introduced on January 1, 2024.
“In general, the bill aims to stimulate investments in green energy. The Republic of Moldova set the national goal to ensure that not less than 30% of the consumed electricity is produced from renewable sources until 2030, up from the current figure of 6%. Also, following the formulated changes, the executive is to announce tender contests for large Aeolian and photovoltaic parks. In total, the installed power in the case of Aeolian parks will be 105 MW, while in the case of photovoltaic panels - 60 MW. The parks are to be set up until 2025,” said the Ministry of Energy.
The bill is to be examined and adopted by Parliament.
