Dumitru Tsyra Jr becomes new owner of Publica TV
Publika TV was sold to the TV channel’s director general Dumitru Tsyra on May 20. The sale-purchase contract was signed in Chisinau by representatives of Bluelink Comunicazione, which owned the controlling interest in Publika TV, and Dumitru Tsyra, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from Publika TV.
“I decided to make this effort given the value of this TV channel and the team that showed professionalism. Publika TV is already a brand on the media market in Moldova. It is the first investment of such a scale I make and I’m confident that it will yield returns in a year and a half,” said Dumitru Tsyra. He also said that the change of the major stockholder will not affect the channel’s editorial policy. “Publika TV will remain an impartial TV channel and the viewers who consider it a place where they can say freely what they think will be its real owners,” stated Tsyra.
According to the communiqué, Publika TV started to officially work in Moldova on April 7, 2010. The station has 370 employees and is the only news TV channel in Moldova. Dumitru Tsyra has served as manager since the company Stiri Media Grup, which includes Publika TV, Publika FM and publika.md, was founded.
