The police made a raid at an apartment located on Valea Crucii St in Chisinau’s Botanica district, where there were persons suspected of forming part of a group specialized in distributing heroine and other types of drugs. The suspects were caught in the act of preparing doses of drugs for selling them, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Chisinau Police Division.

The group consists of six active members – five men aged between 27 and 45 and a 20-year-old woman from Chisinau, Stefan Voda, Calarasi and Soroca. Each of them had well-defined roles, including to transport drugs to Chisinau, to sell drugs, to supervise the deals and to ensure contact with importers of drugs.

In the apartment, the police found 300 grams of heroine, 50 pills with psychotropic effect, about 1 kg of drugs of vegetal origin, electronic scales, mobile phones and marked money transmitted under the control of the police. It is presumed that heroine was smuggled from Italy

The suspects were arrested for 72 hours initially. They face 7 to 15 years in jail for drug distribution.

According to the Chisinau Police Division, this year the police of Chisinau hunted down five criminal groups trafficking in drugs, of 11-15 members each. All the suspects are in custody.
