Drop-offs for donations opened in Chisinau to help flood victims

Starting Friday, August 1, drop-off points for donations are open in Chisinau's City Hall and at district head's offices to collect clothing, food, construction materials, and anything that could be of use to the victims of the recent extensive floods, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release from the City Hall, the commission for the municipal reserve fund has decided to allocate 1 million lei to the victims throughout the country. A maximum sum of 5,000 lei will be dispensed to the families that lost their homes during the flooding.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the employees of the city's electric bus company decided to transfer their one-day salaries to a special bank account opened for the victims. Chirtoaca urged municipal agencies and companies to follow their example.
