Drivers will be asked to check tires

Automobil Club will carry out a road safety operation during April 22-24. Brochures and manometers for checking the state of the tires will be distributed on the main streets of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the organization says they want to sensitize the traffic participants and all the people to the dangers to which they are exposed on the road. The event will start at 11.00 on April 22, at the intersection of the streets Bucuresti and Ciuflea, Bucuresti and Izmail, Stefan cel Mare and Armeneasca, Stefan cel Mare and Pushkin, Stefan cel Mare and G. Banulescu-Bodoni. Automobil Club is a member of the International Automobile Federation. In October 2009, it launched the campaign “Let's Make the Moldova Roads Safe”. It was organized as part of the global campaign ”Make Roads Safe” with the support of the FIA Foundation and the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport. According to the statistical data presented by Automobil Club, about 500 persons are killed and over 3,000 injured in road accidents in Moldova every year. Thirty-nine children died and 561 were hurt in traffic accidents last year.
