Dragoș Galbur: In Chisinau, 22 out of 28 candidates were fillers

Most of the candidates for mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau ventured into the electoral competition in order to attract votes from the right, said the Moldovan National Party’s candidate Dragoș Galbur. According to him, many of the aspirants for the mayoralty of Chisinau didn’t even know the prerogatives of the mayor general. In the same connection, the candidate of the Collation for Unity and Wellbeing (CUB) Ion Bulgac said that he had a fair campaign and delivered consistent messages even if not many of the voters appreciated this, IPN reports.

The leader of the Moldovan National Party said the battle for the mayoralty of Chisinau was inequitable as some of the candidates used the administrative resource. Many of those who were registered as contenders in Chisinau had only the intention of dispersing the votes on the right.

“Out of 28 candidates who ran in Chisinau, 22 were fillers placed to attract votes from the right. There were persons who didn’t have what to deliver and who could not speak in public. Some promised to decrease the gas price as the mayor, to rehabilitate the Chisinau belt road, which is not within the remit of the local public administration. There were persons who were entrusted with the task of confusing the voters and they managed to do this. Ion Ceban cannot be the mayor of everybody as he is a representative of Moscow. This fact was yet ignored as the partners from the West, the representatives of the U.S. took care to erase his image of pro-Russian and managed to Europeanize him,” Dragoș Galbur stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei channel.

In the same program, the CUB candidate for mayor said that even if he didn’t enjoy massive support among the citizens, he managed to promote the image and the messages of the party he represents.

“I’m very proud of the campaign I conducted. It was a decent campaign during which I chose to transmit principles and values to the citizens as these subjects are absent in political communication. In this campaign, I had an anti-nomenklatura, anti-bureaucracy and anti-system message. There were people who saw and heard us and we obtained some votes. From this, we will start to build. We had 2,000 votes. In a year, there will be 20,000 votes, while in four years there will be 200,000 votes. I realize that it is hard for a political organization that appeared a year ago to grow organically, healthily,” stated Ion Bulgac.

In the mayoral election in Chisinau, Ion Bulgac polled 1,861 votes, while Dragoș Galbur obtained 897 votes.
