A young man from a village of Cahul district was detained on suspicion that he killed his parents. According to the police, the 23-year-old suspect is under the supervision of a psychiatrist, IPN reports.

The police in Cahul were notified by a resident of Huluboaia village, who was abroad. He said that his parents did not respond to his repeated phone calls. When travelling to the house, the police found the two persons dead, with visible signs of violent death.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, preliminary investigations showed that the couple, a 58-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, were allegedly killed by another son of theirs.

The suspect was located and detained.

A criminal case was started over intentional murder of family members.
