Dorin Recean denies accusations of links with oligarch Victor Gușan

Prime Minister Dorin Recean responded to the accusations regarding an alleged business relationship with the oligarch from the Transnistrian region Victor Gușan, describing these rumors as lies.

"It is a lie promoted by those who try to play politics or to discredit the Government's efforts to solve the real problems of the country, to ensure peace and security in the region," the official said in an online broadcast.

Dorin Recean noted that he has never met Victor Gușan. "We are not business partners, and these lies are intentionally disseminated. That's why I sued Alexandru Slusari," he said.

Premier Recean also said that the Moldovan authorities maintain a dialogue with the Transnistrian administration, including Vadim Krasnoselsky, in order to prevent the escalation of conflicts.

Referring to a possible arrest of separatist leaders at the Chisinau International Airport, the prime minister stressed that such a gesture would not bring benefits to the Republic of Moldova.

"We will arrest Krasnoselsky. So what? We sleep proudly one night and then we wake up with a conflict. Does that essentially solve the problem? Does it make us richer? Does it provide us with more security?", were the rhetorical questions asked by Dorin Recean.

Representatives of the Transnistrian administration took off for Moscow (via Istanbul) at the Chisinau International Airport on the morning of January 10 and returned on January 14.
