Dorin Junghietu, the new Energy Minister? Premier Dorin Recean's proposal to Maia Sandu

Dorin Junghietu is proposed as Energy Minister, IPN reports.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean: "I have proposed to President Maia Sandu the appointment of Dorin Junghietu as Energy Minister. An expert in the field of gas and energy, with over 16 years of international professional experience in the coordination and commissioning of major energy projects, Dorin Junghietu has a complicated responsibility ahead of him to manage this strategic field".

In a post on social media, the prime minister lists the priorities for this year: to "strengthen the country's energy security, so that we have stability and predictability in the delivery of gas and electricity, as well as the most advantageous tariffs, to tidy up and accelerate large investment projects - those in the sphere of renewable energy, energy efficiency and, in particular, the completion on schedule of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau line".

Last fall, Dorin Junghietu won the contest for Moldovagaz's chairmanship of the Board of Directors, but Gazprom has not approved the appointment until today.

The government has not yet announced when the new minister will be sworn in.
