Dorin Dusceac: Union is to be made in 2018?

If Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu respects the statements he made after his visit to Bucharest about the joint meeting of the legislatures of the two states, this would mean that the union will be made in 2018, deputy head of the National Unity Party Dorin Dusceac stated in the program “People’s Council” on 10TV channel, IPN reports.

Dusceac said a joint meeting of the legislative body would be deliberative because it would ensure a quorum and could take particular decisions. According to him, the symbolism of this sitting could serve as a very fertile background for particular concrete actions. “Thus, an eventual document signed by MPs of both of the legislative bodies could be a starting point for Romania to formulate a union offer for the Republic of Moldova, which would include a unification strategy,” he stated.

Editorialist Nicolae Negru noted that the number of those who want the union has modified during the last few years. This change makes the politicians think immediately about those 25-30% of voters who are well-informed, educated and very active. “This is very well. What should we do now? We should change this percentage of unionists and you will see how many unionists will appear in political parties,” he said.

According to Negru, there are now no preconditions for voting the Union, but there are preconditions for adopting a common document that would set out directions and would be as a starting point.
