The former UNION Electoral Bloc’s candidate for President Dorin Chirtoacă made a call for mass mobilization in the runoff vote. “Our main and common goal is to remove Dodon. We took the first step and have to also take the second step so that Dodon is fully removed from Moldovan politics,” he stated on Facebook Live, being quoted by IPN.
Dorin Chirtoacă noted that if the UNION Electoral Bloc’s advice to propose one pro-European and unionist candidate for President had been followed, the Republic of Moldova would have had a President already. “Given that Maia Sandu is in the lead and we were eight candidates, Sandu would have emerged President in the first round if we had been one to one in the confrontation with Dodon,” stated the politician.
Dorin Chirtoacă also said that he is not disappointed with his score in elections – 1.2% of the poll. He would have felt awful if he had attacked and used populism in the campaign, as other candidates did.
The Liberal leader thanked those who supported him and helped to bring the Union closer, to promote it so that it becomes more visible in society.
