Dorin Chirtoaca: There is no problem about tariffs, the problem is about disobeying local public administration
The Chisinau Council (CMC) could resume the talks about the heat tariff, at its sitting on Thursday, December 11. The councilors are proposed two drafts, one proposed by SA Termocom, which provides for raising the price on heating up to 842 lei per Gcal, and the other signed by Chisinau’s mayor, which demands to reconfirm the tariff (540 lei). Valeriu Didencu, the CMC secretary, stated Monday at the staff meeting of the City Hall, that the CMC’s specialized committees are to convene the coming days, to okay these drafts, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy mayor Vlad Cotet showed dissatisfaction with the fact that, the last days, the radiators’ temperature is excessively high, and the people are to leave the windows opened. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca explained that it is SA Termocom’s tactics, in order to collect more money from consumers.
“Excessive heat supply in Chisinau is an unaccountable thing on the part of Termocom, power plants CET 1, CET 2 and Moldovagaz, which always complained of not being able to supply the heat because of the tariff problems. That proves there is no problem about tariffs, the problem is about disobeying the local public administration,” Dorin Chirtoaca stated.
According to tariff calculating agency Infocom, the average price for heating one square meter of dwelling space, with the tariff of 540 lei per Gcal, is 6 lei. Thus, for a two-room apartment with 45 square meters, the bill for the last half of November amounts to 317 lei (an apartment the accounts were made for was connected to heating starting with the second half of November, e.n.). The vulnerable categories will benefit from compensations of 126 lei, the director of Infocom, Ion Margineanu, has assessed.
Compensations will be given to families having the average monthly income per family member lower than 1,450 lei. The allocations cover 40% of the price included in the heat bill.
At the end of the last week, Termocom was threatening to reduce the exit temperature for the thermal agent, saying that it was warned by SA Moldovagaz.
