Let them imprison me,” Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said, when asked by the press to comment on the court’s decision on the court case involving the animal protection NGO “Alga”, Info-Prim Neo reports. “There is no room for comments,” said the mayor. He stressed that those who want can sue him, adding the given organization is not the first and the last. In a news conference on July 26, representatives of the animal protection nongovernmental organization “Alga” presented a decision passed by the Chisinau Court of Appeals on May 4, 2011, whereby Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca is obliged to submit a plan for sterilizing stray dogs, drawn up in concert with civil society, to the Municipal Council.
