Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca could soon appoint four new district heads after he conferred with the city councilmen about the candidates for these offices at today’s Council meeting. The prospective district heads are: the incumbent Secretary of the City Council, Vladimir Sarban, district councilman in Criuleni, Liberal Gheorghe Boaghe, and doctor Mihai Carlig, also a Liberal. Valeriu Nemerenco, discharged last November by the Council, is expected to be reinstated to the office of Buiucani district head. The councilmen had no objections to the proposed candidates. Nevertheless Dorin Chirtoaca has told reporters he is not so sure that the candidates will actually become district heads, except Valeriu Nemerenco. The mayor also avoided saying which of the districts would be run by the fielded candidates. Four of the five Chisinau’s districts - Buiucani, Ciocana, Rascani and Centru – are run by ad-interim district heads. The district of Botanica is headed by Vladimir Guritenco.
