Dorin Chirtoaca begins election campaign officially
“A young mayor and a Liberal team – this is how we started four years ago and will win again with the same slogan,” the Liberal Party's candidate for mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said in the opening of the party's election campaign. The event took place in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on May 15 and involved supporters of the PL from Chisinau and its suburbs, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Dorin Chirtoaca promised the voters that during the next tenure he will continue the initiated projects, including Valea Morilor Park, the Wastewater Treatment Station, the First House Program and others. There will be set up 50 playgrounds besides the 100 existing ones. The socially underprivileged families will continue to receive compensations for heat.
“We follow the right path. Everything is in the hands of the residents of Chisinau. We won the legislative elections. This year, we must be more than 200,000 so that our victory is ensured. God help us,” Dorin Chirtoaca said.
He also said that the transport infrastructure in the municipality will be modernized. Trolleybuses will be assembled in Chisinau, the suburbs will be developed and new projects will be implemented to transform the city into a European capital.
The PL's candidate was supported by former Minister of Culture Ion Ungureanu, who proposed imposing a fine of 1 million lei on the members of the ruling alliance who start arguments.
Dorin Chirtoaca is under No. 13 in the ballot. He became a mayor in 2007, when he was 28.
