Domnica Manole: Court confirmed that elections were held correctly

The Constitutional Court didn’t ascertain violations that can influence the voting results and the assignment of seats. It therefore confirmed that the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 were held correctly, by universal, equal, secret and freely expressed suffrage, the Court’s president Domnica Manole stated in a press briefing after the meeting in which CC validated the results of the election of the Parliament of the eleventh legislature, IPN reports.

The Court noted that according to the data presented by the Central Election Commission, three entities passed the election threshold: the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) with 63 seats, the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists (BeCS) with 32 seats and the Shor Party with six seats.

The Court also validated the seats of the elected MPs according to the list compiled by the Commission. All the candidates put on the list are eligible for the post of MP and submitted own responsibility statements showing that they weren’t banned somehow from running in elections.
