The Social Liberal Party (PSL) continues the efforts to materialize its initiative of uniting the liberal forces from Moldova, presented three months ago, declared on Wednesday April 19 the president of PSL, Oleg Serebrian at a press conference. This initiative is supported by “the international Liberal Family, including “Fridrich Naumann” Foundation, the creator of which is the Free Democrat Party from Germany”, mentioned the leader of PSL. PSL counts in this process on the Liberal’s Club from Moldova that could offer space, where the liberal parties will negotiate this problem. “So, by 2007 the initiative to form a liberal coalition could become real” At the same conference, the coordinator for the Republic of Moldova and Romania of the “Fridrich Naumann” Foundation, Thomas Kleininger, declared that it will be complicated to set up liberalism in Moldova, because the population is “traumatized” by the communist concept, but this stage was characteristic for Romania, too. He considers the liberalization process of the Moldavian society is developing fast and he believes in its future. “The Republic of Moldova has an incredible potential. But Moldavians should learn from the experience of other countries in order to exceed the obsolete mentality”, states Thomas Kleineger. On February 1, PSL called the Liberal Party, the National-Romanian Party and the New Moldavian National Party to fusion in order to create the Liberal Party from Moldova. PSL reviled that at the negotiations might participate the initiative groups of the European Party, The Popular European Party, The Unionist Move and “The European Action” Move. According to the opinion of the social-liberals, the new formation should have a liberal social-economic platform and politically to declare fro the plenary integration of Moldova in EU and to repeal in this way the border that unites 2 Romanian states.
