Disappointed with behavior of state officials, Moldovans continue to vote them yet

Most of the Moldovans consider the state officials do not care about the people’s opinion. When asked if the elected officials care about what people like them think, about 80% of those polled within the survey “Year 2016 in the opinion of Moldovan population”, presented by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova, responded negatively, IPN reports.

The Association’s chairman Victor Mocanu said most of those who have such an opinion are persons with higher and vocational education. “The people formed such an opinion because the power is indifferent to the financial situation of the population,” stated the sociologist.

Even if they are dissatisfied with the behavior of state officials, most of the people take an active part in elections. A reason is that they are aware they must choose the decision-making bodies that must adopt laws, form the government and realize that the state must be managed somehow. However, they do not trust much these officials, said Victor Mocanu.

The survey covered a representative sample of 1,179 persons and was carried out during January 2-10, 2017.
