A 58-year-old man with locomotor disabilities died in his Zubrești, Strășeni house after it caught fire.
A spokesperson for the Emergencies Inspectorate told IPN that when the firefighters arrived, only one room had burned down as the rest of the house was filled with thick smoke. Inside that room, the responders found the charred body of the owner.
The fire was eventually put down by the Strășeni Fire and Rescue Unit.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Since the beginning of the year, over a thousand fires have been reported across Moldova in which 65 people lost their lives. Recently, a 13-year-old girl died inside her burning home after being left unattended. She, too, was disabled.
