"Compared to Plahotniuc' s time, we have democratic processes now, which implies that discussions and compromises are required in order to achieve certain things". The statement was made by MP Dinu Plîngău, DA Platform, ACUM Bloc, at the public debates on "Relations between governance components: experience, expectations, challenges" subject, part of the 116th edition of "Development of political culture in public debates" cycle, organized by IPN Press Agency and Radio Moldova.
"The ACUM Bloc has concerns due to the high expectations of citizens. Compared to the current situation when there are three parliamentary groups, it was easier to govern when there was a single group, as it was in Plahotniuc' s case, when they could easily take a decision, implement it, then move forward", pointed out Dinu Plîngău.
The MP said that at present due to democratic processes, which means that compromises are required, decision making is more complicated.
According to Dinu Plîngău, there should be more clarity regarding issues that do not involve political commitment from the governance when making appointments to public functions.
"We must meet the expectations of citizens. We have been disappointed on many counts. During this sensitive period, which involves major economic issues and the signing of a new natural gas delivery contract, we must put extra effort in order to solve key issues”, said the MP.
Dinu Plîngău mentioned that the number of complaints to the police increased substantially, which means that people started to have more confidence in state institutions. "We need to reform the justice system, because we are talking about a clan at the level of prosecutor's office and court of law, which has taken root there and makes the system dysfunctional," the MP said.
According to the MP, the judiciary subject must be paramount in the coalition's activity and reform should be carried out with maximum transparency and speedily.
Dinu Plîngău mentioned that local elections were very important for the quality of the relation between ACUM Bloc - PSRM. "If both parties have similar results, the same relation will probably continue. This election campaign will be more normal than the parliamentary one”, said Dinu Plîngău.
The MP also says that those who win the Chisinau city hall will be much better positioned politically in the future and will be able to invoke the argument of citizens’ support.
Dinu Plîngău maintains that he expects a period without the risk of geopolitical issues coming up. These issues have been avoided so far, although there are differences in approach between ACUM bloc and PSRM.
"Relations between governance components: practice, expectations, challenges" public debates constitute the 116th edition of "Developing political culture in public debates" cycle, held with the support of Hanns Seidel German Foundation.
