Moldovan athlete Dimitriana Bezede won a new gold medal at the Balkan Indoor Championships. In Istanbul, Vadim Hranovschi’s pupil managed to throw the weight at a distance of 17.86 meters, IPN reports.
The next result in the standings was 16.80 meters, set by a representative of the host country. The competition in Istanbul involved athletes from 20 countries.
Dimitriana Bezede is thus making definite steps towards qualification for the Paris Olympic Games of this August. The national championship that will be held in Chisinau on February 17, the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow on March 1 and the European Throwing Cup in Leiria are the next competitions that will offer qualification chances. Bezede competed in the last two editions of the Olympic Games.
