Diaspora sues state for violating right to vote

Representatives of the community of Moldovans in Italy, the UK, France and Ireland on November 21 sued the state for violation of their constitutional right to vote in the November 13 presidential runoff, IPN reports.

The complaints were submitted to the Centru Court through the agency of lawyers Eduard Digore and Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.

A number of Moldovans who settled aboard were unable to vote as the polling places ran out of ballots. A number of complaints were thus filed over non-ensuring of conditions for the exercise of the constitutional right to vote, but on November 18 the electoral authorities decided to hand back these complaints.
