Diaspora celebrates. "Gogoașa" among preferred moments at Brescia Festival

The Moldovan community in Italy marked the International Mother Language Day through a festival staged in Brescia. The event brought together children and parents, members of the Moldovan community from different countries, as well as members of the Ukrainian community, IPN reports.

According to the organizers, among the favorite moments was "Gogoașa" - a show that combined playfulness with tradition, giving the audience an insight into childhood stories. This was the first interpretation of the story within the Diaspora Engagement Hub Program, 2024 edition.

Students of "Spiridon Vangheli" school in Brescia, together with their parents and guests, danced together a traditional round dance that is the symbol of unity and connection with cultural roots. The performances of music delighted the audience with traditional songs.

The organizers of the event highlighted the importance of preserving the Romanian language and culture in the diaspora, demonstrating that, regardless of the distance, traditions remain a bridge between generations. The "Mother Tongue" Festival in Brescia was coordinated by Lilia Bicec, president of the Moldbrixia Association.
