Deputy Premier Popescu to take part in NATO and OSCE ministerial meetings

Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, is taking part in the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs hosted by Bucharest. This is the first high-level NATO event in a state on the Eastern Flank after the start of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and with the participation of Finland and Sweden that are joining NATO, IPN reports.

Moldova will take part in the working sessions in the allies and partners format on Wednesday, together with Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

While in the capital of Romania, Nicu Popescu will have meetings with the interim President of the Senate of Romania Alina Ștefania Gorghiu, President of the Chamber of Deputies Marcel Ciolacu and other Romanian political leaders.

Also, during December 1-2, the Moldovan official will take part in the 29th annual meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz. Poland is currently holding the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office.

In the meeting, the foreign affairs ministers of the OSCE Participating States will review and assess the security situation and will discuss the Organization’s work in all the areas of activity. Deputy Premier Popescu will give a speech centering on Moldova’s view about the regional situation. On the sidelines of this event, he will have over 15 bilateral meetings with counterparts from the partner states.
