Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, will pay a visit to Brussels, Belgium, ahead of the publication of the European Commission’s enlargement report in the first half of November, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said Nicu Popescu will meet with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Olivér Várhelyi, Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert-Jan Koopman and with other European officials.
“A working visit to Brussels starts today and its goal is to promote the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and to discuss the significant progress made by our country with high-ranking officials,” stated Nicu Popescu.
While in Brussels, the Moldova official will also discuss the organization by the Republic of Moldova of the Moldova Support Platform Summit on October 17.
