Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea said he informed himself about the alleged kidnapping of Alexandru Rjavitin at the end of last month, when the case became known. He then made all the approaches to have the arrest confirmed or rejected, but hasn’t yet received an answer. The subject is to be discussed in the planned meeting with Tiraspol’s chief negotiator to the Transnistrian settlement process Vitaly Ignatiev.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, Alexandru Flenchea said he announced at the end of last December that the circumstances of this case were being examined and made a number of approaches in this regard, including to establish the whereabouts of Alexandru Rjavitin. As his approaches remained without an answer, the issue will be raised in the meeting with Vitaly Ignatiev that is to take place in Tiraspol next week.

At the end of December, Promo-LEX Association said it was informed by friends and relatives of Alexandru Rjavitin that this disappeared from his own home in Pervomaisc village of Slobozia district of the Transnistrian region. “Alexandru Rjavitin, being drafted into the paramilitary bodies on the left side of the Nistru, in August 2015 managed to evade following serious abuses and violations of his rights. He swam across the Nistru and walked during three days to Chisinau in his military uniform and flip-flops as he could no longer endure the humiliation and beating to which he was subject. As he evaded and dared to speak about the conditions and inhuman treatment he experienced, the de facto Transnistrian administration took “legal action” against him.
