Deputies and ministers own apartments, cottages and plots with the prices of a bicycle or TV set
The head of state, deputies, ministers and district attorneys from the Republic of Moldova own property with an incredibly small price tag. Such information is presented in the declarations regarding incomes and property presented in 2006 to the Central Control Committee.
According to the data offered by the Committee, the two apartments and a car owned by the president of the Parliament, Marian Lupu, have a value of MDL 151 thousand.
Vice-president of the Parliament Iurie Rosca has 2 plots, 2 houses and a garage for two cars estimated at MDL 583 thousand, and the vice-speaker, Maria Postoico, possesses a plot, an apartment, a cottage and a car evaluated at MDL 241 thousand.
The head of state, Vladimir Voronin, has properties evaluated at MDL 365 thousand: 2 plots, an apartment, a cottage, a garage, a car and a motorized vehicle.
According to the declarations, the two apartments, 2 cars and a garage owned by the deputy Nicolae Bondarciuc values MDL 30.281, and Vadim Misin has a cottage, an apartment, a plot, two garages and a car, all estimated at MDL 118.984. Eugenia Ostapciuc is the owner of 2 terrains, 2 apartments, a cottage, a car with the overall value of MDL 423.143. Two plots, the house, an office and the two cars of the deputy Dumitru Diacov are priced at MDL 178 thousand, while the house and two cars of the deputy Petru Gozun cost MDL 45.407, and the house and five cars of Vladimir Filat are estimated at MDL 153 thousand. Victor Stepaniuc has 2 plots, an apartment, a house, a car and a minibus – all valued at MDL 250 thousand.
The apartment, cottage and the garage of Serafim Urechean are evaluated at MDL 72.316. The two plots and two houses owned by deputy Gheorghe Musteata are estimated at MDL 85.800, those two plots, a garage and three cars belonging to MP Dumitru Braghis are evaluated at MDL 41.014, and the house, the flat, a car and a truck owned by MP Ecaterina Cavlac allegedly cost MDL 16.136.
The deputy Alexandr Jdanov holds an apartment of MDL 260.000, while MP Sergiu Stati’s apartment is priced at MDL 6.246
The same sources show that MP Anton Miron lacks living space, declaring only his cottage and garage estimated at MDL 77 thousand, while the deputy Vladimir Turcan has only a MDL 280 thousand vehicle. Even worse is the financial state of MPs

The deputy prime-minister Valerian Cristea holds assets of MDL 25 thousand, these meaning an apartment, a garage, a cottage and a vehicle, while the prosecutor general Valeriu Balaban has an apartment and a car – MDL 75 thousand. The Interior minister Gheorghe Papuc lives in a house worth MDL 24.385 (less than USD 2.000). Those two plots, a hose, a cottage, an apartment, a garage and a car belonging to the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Victor Puscas are estimated at MDL 105 thousand.
There are ministers who claim that they don’t possess property due to be declared: minister of Culture and Tourism, Artur Cozma, and minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatolie Gorodenco.
Recently several house and plots owners from Chisinau received by mail notes from the Cadastral Office announcing them about the value of their property, on the basis of which the land tax will be collected. Thus, several plots of 0.06 ha from Telecentru region were estimated MDL 360, 420 or 550 thousand.
