The Chisinau councilors on February 1 will sign an agreement to form the Democratic Alliance in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), councilor Oleg Cernei told the press after the January 31 meeting of the CMC was postponed for February 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Oleg Cernei, the Democratic Alliance in the CMC will be composed of 26 councilors, 16 of whom represent the Liberal Party, seven – the Liberal Democratic Party, one – the Democratic Party, plus jurist Teo Carnat, and Piotr Dontsov. Oleg Cernei also said that the CMC meeting was put off for Friday because the councilors did not manage to inform themselves about the latest changes concerning the local taxes. “The councilors suggested postponing the meeting so that they have time to familiarize themselves with the local taxes that are very important as they bring over 180 million lei into the local budget. Tomorrow we will approve the budget and will take a decision as regards the deputy mayors. The mayor general will put forward candidates,” said the Liberal councilor. The meeting starts at 2pm.
